The Oporto Sunset Blue Balcony is a lovely blue tiled building from the beginning of the 20th century, featuring small “Belle Époque” balconies as one its key distinctive features. Its architecture and design are a very typical feature of Oporto buildings early 20th century and can be found in several other historical buildings scattered around town. The building was recently refurbished with the latest technologies and materials to provide the best Oporto experience to our guests.
The building is located in Rua Dom João IV, very close to the city center. The neighborhood is composed by a set of residental and commercial historical buildings with architectural design, dating back to the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. The street also boasts a set of palaces that are quite unique and give a distinctive historical and posh feeling to the neighbourhood.
The building where the flat is located and other buildings close by, have been recently refurbished and are being mostly used to provide tourist accommodation. The street is quite busy in terms of traffic during rush hours, however, the modern materials used in the flat’s renovation are quite successful in terms of noise reduction, creating a very quiet environment inside. The neighbourhood is very peaceful and extremely safe, both during the day and night times.
