Porta-Jazz Festival – Oporto

The 9th edition of the Porta-Jazz Festival will take place in Oporto between the 1st and the 9th December 2018. This year’s edition includes 30 concerts, among which some new releases and unique plays. There will also be workshops and jam sessions involving some of the local jazz schools.

The Festival will be spread throughout Oporto and will take place in the following locations: Teatro Rivoli, Casa da Música, Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, Cinema Passos Manuel, Escola Superior de Música, Artes e Espectáculo, Hot Five, Casa de Ló and Porta-Jazz Lounge.

Oporto Piano Fest 2018

The third edition of the Oporto Piano Festival will take place between the 30th July and 5th August 2018 in several locations in Oporto. Oporto will have a week of piano concerts, conferences, master classes and much more. The opening concert will happen in Casa da Música on the 30th July at 19h30. Nuno Marques will perform on the piano together with Emanuel Salvador on the violin and the Stars of American Ballet.

Blues Festival at Oporto – February 2018

The 5th edition of the Atlantic Blues Festival will take place in Casa da Música between the 1st and the 4th February 2018. This event is organized by the Swing Station dance school and should bring to Oporto lots of dancers and musicians from different countries.

The festival programme includes dancing workshops with different levels of specialization and is lectured by professors coming from several countries: Alba Mengual (Spain) and Gastón Fernandez (Argentina/Spain), Vicci Moore (England) and Adamo Ciarallo (Italy/England), Eva Azevedo (Portugal) and Piny Orchidaceae (Portugal).

Open days at “Casa da Música” – Oporto

To celebrate 2018 as the year dedicated to “Austria”, the “Casa da Música” management decided to promote several initiatives for free between the 17th January and the 21st January 2018. So everyone that is interested can go to “Casa da Música” and see rehearsals, watch movies, participate in educative experiences, and take a look at stages and other areas in the building.
