This year, the Saint John party will take place on saturday’s night. Considered as one of the biggest celebrations in Portugal, and the biggest in Oporto, this is a party that attracts many tourists. In 2018, the main list of events scheduled by the City Hall for the holiday is the following:

• 22nd June at 21h30 – Avenida dos Aliados – Saint John Parade with typical groups singing and dancing
• 23rd June at 22h00 – Avenida dos Aliados – tribute to António Mafra
• 23rd June at 24h00 – fireworks in River Douro
• 24th June at 00h30 – José Cid concert – Avenida dos Aliados
• 24th June at 17h00 – Saint John concert – Avenida dos Aliados

Additionally, there should also be many private and neighbourhood parties that you can enjoy. Most of these are free, so you should be up for the time of your life...
