The Aquaporto 2018 event will take place in Parque da Cidade – Oporto between the 28th and the 30th September 2018. This event is promoted by the Oporto City Council, Oporto Water and Porto Lazer in order to celebrate the water day and help people know more about climate change. This year’s event includes 130 scientific / educational experiences performed by specific partners located near the Water Pavillion – northern entrance to Parque da Cidade.

Entrance is free and everyone is welcome to participate. The schedule for the 3 days is the following:

  • 28th September: 10h00 to 19h00
  • 29th September: 11h00 to 19h00
  • 30th September: 11h00 to 19h00

“Night Run” – Oporto 2018

The Park Night Run will take place in Oporto on the 28th July 2018. The 8km run will start at 21h30 from Queimódromo (Parque da Cidade). The event is free, so everyone can participate. In order to do so, please enroll online in this link leading to a website Portuguese (maintained by RunPorto and translation required). Afterwards, you need to pick up the run kit from Queimódromo in the following dates:

  • 27th July – between 10h00 and 19h00
  • 28th July – between 10h00 and 20h00

Nos Primavera Sound

The Nos Primavera Sound Festival will take place in Oporto between the 7th and 9th june 2018. In similar lines to previous years, this year’s edition will take place in Parque da Cidade. Some famous artists will be performing live during this festival like Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Fever Ray, Jamie XX and many more.

Fashion City – March 2018

In order to accommodate this year’s Portugal fashion shows, there will be a new infrastructure temporarily built in “Parque da Cidade”. This new infrastructure has 10000 square meters, 80% are covered, and will be called fashion city. There will be 3 “passerelles”, each one with 1000 square meters and the ability to accommodate 1000 spectators. So all fashion shows presented in Oporto between the 22nd and 24th March will take place in this infrastructure, in lines similar to what happens in other major fashion cities like London, New York or Paris.

You happen to be around during these dates and you are into fashion, then this is an opportunity you cannot miss. Watching fashion shows in a special space conceived all for fashion lovers!!

Oporto Marathon – November 2017

The Oporto marathon will take place on the 5th November 2017. Last year, more than 15000 people participated in this sports event.

In order to prepare for the main event, there will be a special training session with a one hour duration. This session is scheduled for the 29th October at 9h30 at entrance of “Parque da Cidade” (Boavista avenue).

Besides the Marathon (42 km), there will be a Family Race, with a 15 km extension and a Mini Marathon/Fun Race with 6 km.

For those interested, enrolment is open and there are great expectations about the level of competitors that should attend this sports event!! A great opportunity to stretch your legs!!
