The Portuguese airline (TAP) announced a threefold increase in the number of flights between Oporto and New York City. The airline is going to increase the number of weekly flights from 2 to 6. Therefore, it is possible to travel between these two cities everyday, except Tuesday. Flights are already available for sale and the plane used in this route is the Airbus A321 Long Range.

This is a relevant step for Oporto as it significantly enhances its ability to attract traffic and tourists from other continents. It is clearly a great opportunity for US citizens to visit Oporto!!!

For the first time, United Airlines established a regular route between Oporto and New York starting from the 5th May 2018. The third biggest carrier in the world decided to start a daily connection between Oporto and Newark airport. Each flight will take approximately 7 hours and will be done in a Boeing 757 with a maximum capacity of 196 seats, being 16 in executive class. Landing in Oporto will happen at 9h45 and take off is scheduled for 12h35.

This new connection will strengthen the Oporto’s ability to receive american tourists, as for the moment, TAP only has two flights a week to and from the US. Clearly good news …
