Rip Curl GromSearch 2018 – Oporto

The International Oporto beach will host the Rip Curl GromSearch event between the 1st and the 2nd December 2018. This international competition was designed to find new surf talents which are called grommets. This Rip Curl event started in Australia in 1999, but is now spread worldwide. The winner of the Portuguese event will go to Australia in 2019 to participate in the final of the international tournament.

If you are in the neighbourhood and surf is your thing, then it may make sense to watch some of the new Portuguese talents showing their skills …

Beach Volleyball – Championship – Oporto

The final of the national volleyball championship will take place in Oporto (Beach Stadium – edifício transparente) between the 17th and 19th August 2018. The final of the Activobank championship 2018 for male and female seniors will come to Oporto!! The full layout of the final is the following:

  • 17th August – between 12h00 and 19h00
  • 18th August – between 9h00 and 19h00
  • 19th August – between 9h00 and 19h00

Access to the tournament is free. Just make sure you arrive early to find a good spot in the Beach Stadium.

If you are into beach volleyball and you are going to be in Oporto during the next weekend, then this is an opportunity you cannot miss 🙂 🙂

Porto Tennis Open 2018

The 19th edition of the Porto Open tennis tournament will take place between the 21st and 29th July in the Oporto Tennis Club. Some of the best national and international tennis players will be present in this event. The prize money for the male and female events will be the same: 25 000 USD.
