20th Entrepreneur Fair at Oporto

The 20th edition of the Entrepreneur Fair will take place in Oporto between the 23rd and 25th November 2017. This year’s edition lasts for three days and is expected to welcome more than 10000 people to the Alfândega do Porto building. This event is promoted by ANJE and should have the participation of approximately 100 firms spread by two different areas: the Startup Village and the Entrepreneur Showcase. The event will include workshops, pitching sessions, networking and much more.

Urban Markets Weekend – Oporto

This weekend (18th till 19th November) there will be six urban markets available for people that want to buy used/old stuff or crafted products. The six options are the following:

  • The Crafstman Market – Saturday and Sunday and open between 9h00 and 20h00 – with the participation of more than 80 craftsmen that will present their products – in Praça de Parada Leitão
  • The Flea Market – only on Saturday and open between 14h00 and 19h00 – more than 200 sellers will present their products in the trunk of their cars in “Campo Alegre” parking
  • Porto Belo Market – only on Saturday between 10h00 and 19h00 – music and “green market” in Praça Carlos Alberto.
  • Old Stuff Market – only on Saturday between 8h00 and 20h00 – Old and used products for everyone in Praça Francisco Sá Carneiro (Velasquez).

Saint Martins’ Weekend – Oporto

This weekend Oporto celebrates the Saint Martins’ weekend. It is a typical Portuguese tradition coming from a very distant past. Normally, this celebration happens in one of the last weeks of summer like weather and people call it the “Saint Martins’ summer”. One of the most proeminent features of this celebration is the traditional chestnut roasting that tends to be in held in a big community bonfire. Everyone helps preparing the bonfire and the chestnuts, and everyone eats at the end.

To celebrate this year’s Saint Martins’ weekend, there will be plenty of bonfires in Oporto and most of them are free. If you are visiting Oporto, this is an opportunity you cannot miss!!

White Wedding Weekend – Oporto

The White Wedding Weekend is a major event dedicated to all that are involved in the wedding industry, including fashion, cuisine and other activities. This year, the White Wedding Weekend will take place in Oporto, in Alfândega building, between the 9th and the 12th November. Ticket prices are 4 euros per person and opening hours are 21h00 on Thursday and Friday, and 15h00 on Saturday and Sunday. Closing times are 24h00 on everyday, except Sunday (20h00).

Wine Fest Porto – November

In 2017, there is another Wine Fest edition that will take place on the 18th November in “Salão Nobre da Alfândega” – Oporto. Around 33 wine producers coming from 11 regions in Portugal are going to present more than 300 wines to distributors and final consumers in a single room. There will be several wine tasting events and some of those include very unique and special wines.

The event starts at 15h00 and goes until 20h00. There are three types of packs available to participate in the Wine Fest: a standard pack of 10 euros, a special event pack of 20 euros and a full pack of 50 euros.

Oporto Marathon – November 2017

The Oporto marathon will take place on the 5th November 2017. Last year, more than 15000 people participated in this sports event.

In order to prepare for the main event, there will be a special training session with a one hour duration. This session is scheduled for the 29th October at 9h30 at entrance of “Parque da Cidade” (Boavista avenue).

Besides the Marathon (42 km), there will be a Family Race, with a 15 km extension and a Mini Marathon/Fun Race with 6 km.

For those interested, enrolment is open and there are great expectations about the level of competitors that should attend this sports event!! A great opportunity to stretch your legs!!

Alternative health fair – Oporto

This year, the alternative health fair will take place in Oporto between the 27th and 29th of October. This fair is considered as an international reference for the promotion of well-being, personal development and healthy living.

This initiative will take place in the Alfândega do Porto conference center and each daily ticket costs 5 euros. The three day ticket costs 10 euros and children until the age of 10 can enter for free.

The fair starts at 15h00 on the 27th October and will include workshops, lectures, meditation sessions and much more. There will also be four special sessions with the Croation therapist Braco which is well-known for past work done with Naomi Campbel, Matt Bomer and Alan Comming.
